Shemayim

July 2, 2010
Shalom Shemayim Parents,
The first week of camp is over and summer has officially begun. This past week was full of fun and a lot of new experiences. On Monday we kicked the week off by working together and establishing a set of “rules” for the summer. By creating these rules everyone in the group understands and agrees with how we can work together to ensure a fun summer. On Tuesday we met with Eric, the sports specialist, and played fun games with a parachute. We also met with Tal, our counselor visiting from Israel, to practice a song to sing in front of the whole camp! Our group did a great job with the song at the end of the day! Wednesday our group got to go on a bouncy bounce and to add to a perfect day, we played four- square and spent some time playing on the playground. Yesterday, in order to explore our creative side, we used our imaginations to draw our very own mini golf course designs. This week’s theme was the high holidays. We learned about both Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah. In order to end this week today we came together and experienced our first Shabbat of the summer! All in all we had a great first week that has set the tone for an amazing summer that can only get better from here! We are looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

Sincerely,
Elliott, Amber, Josh, and Dan
